AL leader found dead in M’singh

MYMENSINGH, June 5 (UNB): Police recovered the body of a local Awami League (AL) leader from a paddy field at Shahidnagar under Gafargaon Upazila Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Majid (60), president of Ward No 4 of Shahidnagar union unit of AL.

Zahidul Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Pagla thana under Gafargaon Upazila, said Majid went out of the house at about 10:00 pm Wednesday and had not returned since then.

Local people spotted Majid's body in the paddy filed adjoining his house Thursday and immediately informed police.
