AL leader slaughtered in Meherpur

MEHERPUR, Jan 24 (UNB): Some terrorists at Gopalpur village under Mujibnagar Upazila slaughtered a local Awami League (AL) leader Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam Bablu, member of Mahajanpur Union Parishad.
Police said some terrorists called Shahidul out of his house at 12:30 am and took him to nearby Tupler beel and slaughtered him.
The assailants fled away after exploding two bombs creating panic among the local people.
