AL leader strangulated to death in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Mar 20 (UNB): A local Awami League (AL) leader was strangulated to death at Chankuti under Sadar Upazila Friday.
Police recovered the body of Motiur Rhaman Moti (55), a trader and also AL vice president of ward no 3 of Tapodhan union unit, from a paddy field Saturday morning.
Police suspected that unidentified assailants strangled Motiur to death on Friday night.
Police said that the deceased might have been killed by rivals following a conflict over forming bazar management committee.
Police sent the body to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) morgue for autopsy. A case was filed.
