A group of Awami League activists have paid floral tributes at the Central Shaheed Minar on behalf of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, reports bdnews24.com.
Around 11:30am on Saturday, during International Mother Language Day commemorations attended by people from all walks of life, five to six people stepped onto the altar and laid flowers in her name.
Witnesses saw four young men and an actress enter through the main gate carrying a wreath bearing the message: "Humble homage on behalf of People's Leader Sheikh Hasina."
Hundreds present at the site watched the scene unfold. No attempt was made to obstruct or confront the group.
Although the actress, Mishti Subhash, holds no official post in the party, she has actively participated in Awami League programmes across TSC, Dhanmondi 32 and other locations since the 2024 July Uprising, sometimes facing arrests during her activism.
