AL MP Hiron laid to rest

BARISAL, Apr 11 (BSS): Shawkat Hossain Hiron, lawmaker and former mayor of Barisal City Corporation, was laid to eternal rest besides his mother's grave at Muslim Graveyard here this afternoon.

Earlier, his second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at 2:30 pm at Bangabandhu Udyan after Jumma prayers. Thousands of people, his followers and well-wishers attended the janaza and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Awami League advisory council member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, district AL president Abul Hasnat Abdullah, MP, Jatiya Party former secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, MP, city BNP president Mojibor Rahman Sarwar attended the janaza.

Earlier, late Hiron's body was kept in front of the city AL office on Sadar road to enable people from all walks of life to pay their last respect to him.

Shawkat Hossain Hiron, also Barisal City AL president, died at Apollo Hospital in Dhaka on April 9.
