Leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies observed the 49th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Goplaganj and Faridpur districts, reports UNB.
On the occasion of the day, party and black flags along with the national flag were hoisted at Gopalganj district Awami League office at 7:00 am.
At 7:20am, party leaders paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu by placing wreaths.
Apart from Gopalganj, Awami League activists and supporters from neighbouring districts started coming to Tungipara in the morning.
At around 11:00 am, AL activists led by District Awami League President Mahabub Ali Khan and General Secretary GM Shahabuddin Azam paid their respect at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Meanwhile, leaders and activists of Awami League observed the day with due fervor in Faridpur.
At 11:30 am, the leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies hoisted the national and black flags at half-mast at the party office on Bowlmari Thana Road.
