AL panel sweeps RU employees\\\' election

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, May 31: Awami League backed Sabbir-Mithu panel swept the election of the Fourth Class Employees' Association of Rajshahi University (RU). BNP-Jamaat backed Masud-Shamim panel got no post.

Md Sabbir Hossain and Shakhawat Hossen Mithu were elected president and general secretary respectively for the next year.

Other elected office-bearers are -- vice presidents-Asad Ali and Liakot Ali, treasurer-Md Sirajul Islam, joint secretary generals-Aminul Islam and Hamidul Islam, organising secretary Zamal Uddin, office secretary Iqbal Hossain, social welfare secretary Anowar Hossain, literature and cultural secretary Hanif Mohammed, sports secretary Sha Alam, legal affairs secretary Khairul Bashar, labour secretary Shariful Islam, education secretary Tuhin Reza, women affairs secretary Tuhin Akhtar, information and research secretary Habibur Rahman, publishing secretary Khondaker Habibur Rahman, assistant publishing secretary Mirza Ashrafuzzaman.

Besides, six executive members are- Azad Ali, Abdullah Al Masud, Ruhul Ameen, Moniruzzaman Manik, Gias Uddin and Masudur Alam.

The election was held on Wednesday from 10 am to 3 pm at the Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium on the university premises.
