PANCHAGARH, Sept 19 (BSS): Railways Minister Moahmmad Nurul Islam Sujon on Saturday said the basic objective of the politics of Awami League (AL) is people's betterment.
"AL is a party of common masses and the dreams of the Father of Nation Bangabandhu were to bring smiles to the teeming millions by meeting their basic needs in society", Sujan said.
Railways minister said present government under the sagacity and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has relentlessly been working to improve the livelihood of the disadvantaged groups; especially the ultra-poor, insolvent, deprived and physically-challenged, by extending allowances to them under social safety net.
The minister said this while addressing the inaugural function of a software mobile app styled as Sabuj Patha (green leaf) at Debiganj Upazila Parishad hall room this afternoon as the chief guest.
He said from now on the beneficiary people will get their allowances from the mobile apps easily by which anomalies and the corruption will be contained.
The programme was addressed, among others, by Upazila Parishad chairman Abdul Malek Chisti, Additional Superintendent of Police Sudarshon Kumar Roy, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debiganj Prottoy Hasan, Railways Minister's son Barrister Koushik Nahiyan, Upazila Awami League President Gias Uddin and General Secretary Hasnat Zaman Chowdary while Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Raihan presided over the function.
