Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina's Information Technology (IT) Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy said Thursday that Awami League (AL) will further be strengthened by using information technology (IT), reports BSS.

"Awami League has successfully been running the state over the past five years and a half. Now I desire to run the party successfully. The party will be more strengthened by using information technology," he said.

Joy said this to reporters following his 105-minute talks with seven organising secretaries, office secretary and publicity and publication affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL) at the political office of party president Sheikh Hasina at Dhamondi in the city.

The young IT expert has been extending assistance to the government in many ways in fulfilling Awami League's commitment to build a 'digital Bangladesh' within the year 2021. Joy also wished extending his assistance to the ruling party from now on.

In reply to a question, he said, "We have already started work (on IT). A database of the members of the party would be created. Work on the database has been continuing incorporating all the information of the leaders and workers of Awami League starting from ward level so as to maintain contacts with all of them."

Turning to his talks with the secretaries, Joy said, "Awami League family always helps the government. The meeting has been convened with a view to strengthening the government as well as the Awami League and as to how information technology could be used for continuation of the ongoing development activities."
