AL to hold rallies at 16 city venues tomorrow

The ruling Awami League will organise public rallies at 16 venues, including the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, in the capital city to mark the Victory Day for Democracy on January 5, reports BSS.
The decision to this effect was taken at a joint meeting of Awami League (AL) held at the political office of party president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city on Friday. Split into 16 teams, central leaders of AL will speak at these public rallies.
Besides, public rallies will be organised in all the cities, including Dhaka, district and upazila headquarters simultaneously at 2-30 pm in observance of the Victory Day for Democracy on January 5.
In the capital, public rallies will be organised at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, in front of Mirpur Purabi Cinema, Jurain-Syampur Rail Gate, Demra-Jatrabari Ground, in front of Badda-Rampura Filling Station, Dhanmondi Road-32, Mirpur-1 Goll Chattar (Round Square), Lalbagh, Gulshan, Sutrapur, Tejgaon, Sabujbag-Khilgaon, Uttara, Kamrangirchar, Mohammadpur and Kafrul, according to a press release of Awami League.
In a statement Saturday, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, MP, urged AL leaders concerned in particular and party units across the country in general to observe the Victory Day for Democracy in line with party programmes on January 5.
