AL wins four seats in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jan 17 (BSS): Bangladesh Awami League (AL) candidates bagged four seats while Independent candidate got one seat in the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election from five constituencies of the district.
In Gaibandha-1 (Sundar-ganj) constituency, AL candidate Manjurul Islam Liton was elected MP unofficially getting 1,18,152 votes and his nearest Jatiya Party candidate Dr Colonel Abdul Kader Khan bagged 13,044 votes.
In Gaibandha-2 constituency, AL candidate Mahabub Ara Begum Gini was elected MP unofficially as she got 51,713 votes and her nearest Independent candidate Makdubar Rahman begged 10,058 votes.
AL candidate Dr Yunus Ali Sarker was declared MP from Gaibandha-3 (Palashbari-Sadullapur) constituency as he bagged 1,27,563 votes while his nearest Independent candidate SM Khademul Islam Khudi got 18,204 votes.
In Gaibandha-4 (Gobinda-ganj) constituency, Abul Kalam Azad (Independent) was elected MP unofficially as he got 98,546 votes while his nearest AL nominated candidate Engineer Monowar Hossain Chowdhury bagged 64,614 votes.
In Gaibandha-5 (Shaghata-Fulchhari) constituency, AL nominated candidate Advocate Fazley Rabbi Miah was elected MP uncontested.
