The 64th birth anniversary of Ali Imam, noted author of juvenile fictions, stories, poems and other works, will be observed today (Wednesday). The writer was born on this day in 1950 in Brahmanbaria, says a press release.
Also known as a TV personality, Ali Imam wrote essays, plays, travel stories and science fictions for his young readers. He also translated many overseas works into Bangla.
An author of over 500 books, Ali Imam has been honoured with a number of literary awards. Those include, among others, Bangla Academy Award, Agrani Bank Award for Juvenile Literature and Bangladesh Shishu Academy Award.
