An alleged criminal was gunned down by unknown assailants in the city's Cantonment area Tuesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Swapan alias Kala Swapan, 25, son of Alauddin and a resident of Mirpur section-12.
An officer of Cantonment police station said they recovered the body of Swapan, who remained missing since November 29, from a road at Matikata area Tuesday morning.
A case was filed in this connection.
