ALPB decision on Tangail-8 by-polls nominee today

The nine-member Awami League Parliamentary Board (ALPB) will sit today (Wednesday) at 6.00 pm to finalise the party's nomination for Tangail-8 by-election, reports UNB.

Awami League (AL) president and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting that will be held at her official residence, Ganobhaban.

The by-election to the constituency that fell vacant following the death of AL MP Showkat Momen Shahjahan on January 20 will be held on March 23.

Before finalising the party nominee, the ALPB will interview the aspirant candidates.

Meanwhile, AL has decided to distribute party nomination papers for the upcoming by-election to Tangail-8 constituency from Tuesday and today (Wednesday).

The ALPB took the decision at its meeting on Monday evening.

The nomination seekers will have to submit nomination papers by 5 pm today.
