BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday got bail in four more cases filed over political violence centering the BNP rally in Dhaka on October 28 last year.
He has secured bail in total six cases, including these four, so far.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain granted bail to Amir Khasru in four cases on Thursday, said BNP leader's lawyer Syed Zainul Abedin Mesbah.
Lawyer Mesbah said the court was scheduled to hold hearing on bail petitions in eight cases placed by BNP leader Amir Khasru.
However, the court could not hear the bail petitions of four other cases as those are now in the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court for hearing on bail petitions of other accused in the same cases.
Of the cases, two were filed with Paltan Model Police Station and two others with Ramna Model Police Station.
On January 14, Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury set January 18 for hearing Khasru's bail petitions in the eight cases.
Amir Khasru was produced in the court from jail during the hearing of the cases. Earlier on the day, he was shown arrested in those cases after his lawyer submitted eight separate petitions.
