Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publication Secretary Hasan Mahmud Friday said no one would be allowed to create anarchy towards Teesta Barrage in Nilphamari district in the name of 'long march' to be arranged by the BNP-led alliance on April 22, reports BSS.

"None will be spared if anyone tries to create anarchy in the name of long march towards Teesta. The government is determine to prevent any anarchy with an iron bar," he said.

He said this while speaking at a discussion on historic Mujibnagar Day organised by Bangabandhu Academy in Sagor-Runi auditorium at Dhaka Reporters' Unity in the city.

Awami League Dhaka city unit vice-president Foyez Uddin Mia, Joint Secretary Haji Selim MP and Shammobadi Dal leader Harun Chowdhury also spoke with AL assistant secretary Zakir Ahmed in the chair.

Criticising BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, Hasan said, "The leader who did not even talk over the water sharing of Teesta or Ganga River during her Delhi visit, now trying to create anarchy through this long march."

Hasan Mahmud came down heavily against BNP Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman for his audacious comments against the country's founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
