Another case against MAH Selim filed

BAGERHAT, June 2 (UNB): Another case was filed against detained former BNP lawmaker MAH Selim Friday night on charge of land grabbing.

Police said Bagerhat BNP former secretary of Ward No. 7 and Sramik Dal leader Mina Raqibul Hasan Milon filed the case with Sadar police station accusing Selim of setting up a private university at Goalmath area grabbing his over one acre of land.

In his complaint Raqibul Hasan said the former BNP lawmaker bought about 1.0 acre and 17 decimal of land from him on April 6 last year and set up Majeda Begum Agriculture Technology University after the name of his mother.

He said though the market price of the land was about Tk 0.90 million, Selim forced him to take only Tk 0.28 million.

Earlier an extortion case was filed against Selim Thursday night. The joint forces arrested him from Dhaka on March 7.
