NARAYANGANJ, Aug 4 (UNB): A fresh case has been filed against Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the sensational seven-murder case, on charge of transferring a firearm, whose licence had been revoked, to other person.
Sub-inspector (SI) Ajit Kumar Mitra of Siddhirganj Police Station filed the case Monday noon.
Officer-in-charge of the police station M Alauddin said Nur Hossain gave the firearm to his brother-in-law Nur-e-Alam instead of surrendering it to the state after its licence had been cancelled.
Nur Hossain, also a Narayanganj City Corporation councillor, had obtained licences for a total of 11 firearms in his name.
After the gruesome killing of seven people, including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker, in late April, the district administration took away the licences.
Later, police seized nine of the firearms while the two others remained traceless.
