Food Minister and Dhaka City Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Advocate Quamrul Islam alleged Friday that the anti-liberation forces were hatching conspiracies afresh against the government, reports BSS.
"Conspiracy has been brewing up afresh against the government but people of Bangladesh are not with that. Those who opposed the country's independence along with some evil foreign forces have been hatching the conspiracy. The people have to remain alert so that the evil forces could never come to power," he said.
The minister said this while speaking at a discussion in the city. Bangabandhu Shikkha O Gabeshona Parishad organised the discussion to review the National Budget-2014-15 fiscal year at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters' Unity at Segunbagicha in the capital with its president Prof Dr Tofazzal Islam in the chair.
Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and Bangladesh Public Service Commission Member Prof Dr Abul Kashem Mazumdar were the discussants, among others.
Pointing to the conspirators, Mr Islam said, "You won't succeed by resorting to falsehood. You can be self-complacent and can mislead people temporarily but can't be successful."
He said, "The anti-liberation forces resorted to looting of resources of Bangladesh remaining in power for long, but they should not get a scope again. For this the people have to remain alert."
Prof Arefin Siddique termed the budget education-technology- agriculture friendly one saying it's a time-befitting and realistic budget.
