Appellate Div forms second bench

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has formed a second bench, reports bdnews24.com. Chief justice A B M Khairul Haque will head a six-member bench of the division, while the other with two members will be headed by justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman. The decision to form a new bench had been included in Wednesday's cause list, published Tuesday. Justice Abu Nayeem has not been sitting in the chair of his bench since Haque was appointed chief justice on September 30 last year. On April 20, he sent a letter to Haque requesting to constitute another bench. Copies of the letter were also sent to the president and the law minister.
