Arrest warrant against 28 BNP men in arson attack case

A Dhaka court issued on Sunday warrant of arrest against 28 BNP men including its standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and joint secretary general Aman Ullah Aman in an arson attack case of January last, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla passed the order after taking a charge-sheet in the case into cognisance filed under explosive and special powers acts.

A total of 42 BNP leaders and activists were charge-sheeted in the case for attacking vehicles with petrol bombs near Mirpur Model Police Station in the city during the countrywide hartal and blockade enforced by the BNP alliance on January 28.

Twenty-eight accused shown arrested in the case, went into hiding soon after the case was filed by Sub Inspector (SI) Khandoker Rajib Ahmed with Mirpur Model Police Station.
