Expelled BNP leader Ashraf Hossain said they want reform within the party so that none can amass illegal wealth capitalising on BNP or BNP government in future the way it had been done in the last five years.
Ashraf, who was joint secretary general of the party, made the remarks to reporters after a meeting with Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan at the latter's residence in the city Monday, reports UNB.
In reply to a question, he said the date for BNP requisition meeting has not been fixed but expressed the hope that new BNP Secretary General Khondoker Delwar would finally join their move.
Ashraf, who has sided with the pro-reform camp of Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan in the changed political scenario in the country, said they would be happy if they got any reform proposal from Delwar on issues like "overcoming political crisis, strengthening BNP ideologically and bringing qualitative changes in politics for the welfare of the people".
