Attack on Gayeshwar's house, 15 injured

At least 15 people, including six women, were injured as allegedly Sramik League activists attacked the house of BNP joint secretary-general Gayeshwar Chandra Roy at Banagram in South Keraniganj this evening, reports UNB.
Kazi Jahangir, local Jubo Dal convener, and a dozen others were rushed to a local hospital and clinics.
Witnesses said about 70 Sramik League activists returning to Kunda in two busses from a rally in Dhaka city stopped in front of Gayeshwar's house. The activists pelted brickbats, broke the main gate and smashed windowpanes.
Jubo Dal leader Jahangir and 14 others were wounded in the attack when they tried to resist the ruling party activists.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Arpana Roy, daughter of Gayeshwar who was in the house during the attack, told UNB that legal action is being taken against the attackers.
