Emphasising political dialogue, Australian High Commissioner in Dhaka Greg Wilcock urged all political sides Monday to renew their efforts to resolve their political differences peacefully, reports UNB.
"We believe constructive political dialogue will support Bangladesh's further success," he said in a statement.
Wilcock mentioned that he had the opportunity to speak to government and opposition leaders about Bangladesh's current troubles Monday and in recent days.
"On behalf of Australia, I've condemned, without qualification, the continuing political violence in Bangladesh," said the diplomat.
He also urged all sides to exercise restraint and respect for freedom of speech and assembly. "Australia values its growing relationship with Bangladesh."
