Azam Chy case against Hasina withdrawn

A Dhaka court Sunday withdrew the Tk 30 million (three crore) extortion case businessman Azam J Chowdhury had filed against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports bdnews24.com.
Mozammel Hossain, the acting judge of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-5, made the order on a petition submitted by metropolitan Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdullah Abu on May 14.
The High Court Tuesday revoked its previous orders that halted the proceedings of the case in June 2007 with the Gulshan Police Station.
A lawyer for Hasina had said after the High Court verdict that the step was necessary to process her petition to withdraw the case.
