President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Prof AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury renewed his call on Monday to the country's two top leaders to engage in talks to resolve the ongoing political crisis and thus save Bangladesh, reports UNB.

"The country is on fire…people have been dying while the economy on the edge. According to the Finance Minister, the government has no control over outside Dhaka. Political problem can't be resolved with guns and repression and suppression by police," he said.

Talking to journalists at his Baridhara residence in the city, the BDB chief said political problem must overcome politically. "Under the circumstances, the two leaders (Hasina and Khaleda) must be liberal and make sacrifices."

B Chowdhury, also a former President, said the Prime Minister should play the bigger role in taking initiatives for talks to save the country.
