Bagha municipality mayor Akkas held, released later

RAJSHAHI, Dec 25 (UNB): Police on Wednesday night arrested Bagha municipality mayor Akkas Ali of the district on charge of making disparaging remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.

Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station, said on information, a team of police arrested Akkas Ali in front of the municipality office at about 7:30 pm while he was making disparaging remarks about the prime minister and the state minister.

However, he was released on a bond by his family members at night.
