Banani BCL leader held over extortion

Police arrested the president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Banani unit and two other activists from a house at Banani in the city early Sunday on charge of extortion, reports UNB.

The arrested BCL leader was identified as Anisur Rahman Anis while identities of the others could not be known. Police arrested the trio from a house at Banani, Block-B around 1:00 am.

Later, Mizanur Rahman, a garment stock-lot businessman, filed a case against the three BCL men with Banani Police Station around 10:00 am as they had allegedly demanded toll from him.
