"Foreigners had imposed an unjust and wrong history and geography on South Asia. Bangabandhu had opened the way to its correction by creating a nation-state. He was a beacon for all freedom-loving people, everywhere, and an inspiration not for Bengalis alone, "Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said Monday, reports BSS.
He was speaking as special guest at a meeting organised by Bangabandhu Parishad of the local government engineering department (LGED) at the LGED auditorium at Agargaon.
Referring to Khaleda Zia, he said that whatever she does to distort history, it would not work and Bangabandhu would stand out, distinctively, because of his unique deeds.
"She has deviated from the easy, simple task of politics and has volunteered to become irrelevant from democratic politics," he said.
Hasanul Haq Inu said," Khaleda Zia had lost her way and had resorted to conspiracy-subversion, sabotage, violence and terror, distortion of history, patronage of militancy and terrorism. People do not endorse such unnatural and restless politics."
Presided over by the president of LGED Bangabandhu Parishad, SK Amjad Hossain, the meeting was attended by Expatriates' Welfare and Employment Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain as chief guest. Others who participated in the meeting included the member-secretary of the Parishad, Engr Md Amirul Islam Khan.
