Bangabandhu's birth centenary celebration body meeting held


The first meeting of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee was held at International Mother Language Institute in the city on Monday to make the elaborate programnmes a success, reports BSS.
Members of the committee dwelt on different aspects of the programmes taken for celebration of birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and other members, including secretaries, cultural personalities, journalists and heads of different organisations, among others, were present at the meeting.
Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby also attended the meeting.
National Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting while PM's former principal secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury conducted it.
In February 14, 2019, the government formed a 102-member national committee for the nationwide celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been made the president of the committee, while PM's former principal secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury is its member-secretary.
