Bar council polls now on Aug 13

The Appellate Division (AD) of Supreme Court (SC) has asked the Bangladesh Bar Council to review their voters list, publish the updated version by July 12 and hold the polls on August 13, reports bdnews24.com.

A four-strong bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha gave the order on Thursday after reviewing pleas by three candidates and the council itself.

The order told the council's chairman (attorney general) and secretary to review the voters list and publish the updated list by the given deadline.

Khandker Mahabub Hossain, the council's vice chairman, said the existing committee will continue work until the polls.
