Barrister Mainul freed on bail

Barrister Mainul Hosein walked free from Keraniganj central jail on Sunday after securing bail from a Dhaka court in a defamation case.
Advocate Mohiuddin Chowdhury, one of the lawyers for Mr Mainul, said, "Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Tofazzal Hossain granted him bail on Sunday."
"Mr Mainul was sued for slandering female journalist Masuda Bhatti on a television programme," he added.
The judge passed the order after hearing the bail petition of the former adviser to a caretaker
government.
