BCL blames ICS men for attack on RU unit leader

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Nov 15: Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Rajshahi University (RU) unit Thursday protested the attack on their leader Abdullah Al Mamun Shimul. The BCL men held a protest meeting in the campus at 12.30pm on the day.

Earlier, two hundred BCL activists led by RU unit general secretary Khalid Hasan Biplob, brought out a procession.

Parading the whole campus the precisionists held a meeting on the campus. In the meeting BCL leaders blamed the Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) activists for attack on Shimul,   Friday.

The BCL leaders said Chhatra League does not like politics of to arms, but the ICS cadres have been attacking the BCL activists one after another in the campus.

Chhatra League will not tolerate Shibir politics on the campus if the ICS men launch any more attack on the BCL activists, the speakers warned.

BCL university unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana, central council member Saidur Islam Rubel, Rajshahi city unit general secretary Mahmudul Hasan and former general secretary of city unit Meer Touhidur Rahman spoke in the meeting.

Mentionable here that around at 12.30 pm on Wednesday a group of miscreants confined Shimul and stabbed him in the right knee indiscriminately behind the university's Juberi Bhaban.
