BCL leader Nodi, three others sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent four members of banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), including former president of BCL's Dhaka University Shamsunnahar Hall unit Nishita Iqbal Nodi to jail, reports BSS.

They were arrested in an anti-terrorism act case filed with the capital's Kalabagan Police Station.

The three others are former joint general secretary of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall Al Fatara Kazol, ex-BCL activist from AIUB University Shovon Rahman and former Chhatra League activist from Jahangirnagar University Hasan Imam Shovon.

Police produced them before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on expiry their two-day remand on Tuesday. The investigative officer of the case pleaded to keep them behind the bars until the investigation of the case is completed.

Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order.

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) arrested them from Bashundhara residential area on December 14.

Police produced them before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on

December 15 with an appeal of taking them on seven-day remand.

After hearing both the sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan granted two-day remand for them.
