BCL leader shot dead in Khulna

KHULNA, Mar 19 (UNB): A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was gunned down by some unidentified miscreants at Terokhada Bazar in Terokhada Upazila Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Imran Fakir (28), general secretary of BCL Terokhada Upazila unit.
Police and witnesses said Imran, his brother Shaheb Ali and some local BCL activists were campaigning in favour of a local union parisad chairman candidate at the bazar at about 10.00 am.
At one stage, unidentified miscreants numbering 8/10 opened fire on them indiscriminately, leaving Imran dead on the spot and Shaheb and Mahbub critically injured.
The injured were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) while the body of Imran was sent to KMCH morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed.
