BCL pays tributes to Raufun Basunia

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), students' front of the ruling Awami League, on Saturday paid tributes to the martyr of anti-autocratic movement Raufun Basunia marking 36th death anniversary of the student leader, reports BSS.

The leaders and activists, led by BCL President Al Nahiyan Khan Joy and its General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee, paid the homage by placing wreaths at the Basunia Memorial on Dhaka University campus this morning.

BCL DU unit General Secretary Saddam Hussein, leaders and activists of BCL different units were present on the occasion.

Raufun Basunia was general secretary of Dhaka University unit of Jatiya Chhatra League, who was shot dead during a clash between Chhatra Sangram Parishad and activists of Nutan Bangla Chhatra Samaj, backed by military ruler HM Ershad, on February 13 in 1985.
