Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) demonstrated on the Dhaka University (DU) campus Thursday protesting 'strike, terrorism and anarchism' by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at the university.
Hundreds of BCL leaders and activists from different residential halls of DU joined the protest procession on the second day of a two-day strike, called by JCD, following the violence of January 19.
The BCL leaders at a rally after the demonstration alleged that JCD had spoiled the congenial atmosphere of education at DU by creating factional feuds in it.
We have vowed to resist any criminal activity by any vested quarter and maintain a fair academic environment at the university in the days to come.
BCL central General Secretary Mahmudul Haider Chowdhury Roton, DU unit President Sohel Rana Tipu and General Secretary Sajjad Shakib Badsha, among others, spoke at the rally.
However, the JCD-called second-day strike was relaxed to some extent at the university Thursday, as no JCD man came to the campus. Classes in some departments and all pre-scheduled examinations were held on day.
