BD hangs on razor wire fence: BNP

FE REPORT | May 10, 2024 00:00:00

The Awami League (AL) does politics only to appease India that, in turn, will not be able to help it remain in power, says the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The nationalist party has thus reiterated its call to the public to boycott the AL for the country's sake.

"Bangladesh is hanging on a razor-wire fence. The AL does politics only to appease India, but India won't be able to help it stay in power," asserted BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Thursday.

"Bangladesh got liberated in 1971, but its people are yet to be independent," he said this at a discussion on foreign aggression on democracy, independence and sovereignty at the Dhaka Reporters Unity.

A faction of Gono Odhikar Parishad organised the event.

Stressing the need for boycotting the government, Mr Roy said, "The AL government is the worst product of India. It's imperative to boycott this government. We should boycott foreign products."
