CHITTAGONG, Mar 6 (BSS): Industries Minister Dilip Barua said Friday the BDR mutiny was a deep-rooted conspiracy against the country and its sovereignty.

Inaugurating a two-day Unilever Community Health Care Service at Hamid Char of Kalurghat industrial area under Chandgaon thana, he said vested quarters were out to put the present government in trouble by creating unstable situation in the country.

Dilip Barua said the wisdom and prompt steps of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina had helped solve the crisis peacefully.

He said the vested quarters created obstruction through the conspiracy against the present government led by Sheikh Hasina before completing two months.

The minister said the conspirators always hatched intrigues when the nation was poised to prosper under the leadership of Awami League (AL). But the peace-loving people, he said, had always forged a resistance against the evil design.

He said there was no alternative to industrialisation for creating employment in the country and improving the living standard of the people.

Dilip Barua said the present government would like to establish a stable democratic society for the welfare of the country.

The Managing Committee of Hamid Char Primary School organised the function in collaboration with Unilever Bangladesh Limited, Chittagong Diabetic Association, Chittagong Ma-O-Shisu Hospital and Lions Eye Hospital.

Chaired by President of Hamid Char Primary School Managing Committee Sekandar Mia, the function was addressed, among others, by AL leaders MA Salam and Ruhul Quddus Khan.

Organisers said around three thousand patients will be able to get treatment under the programme.
