BD\\\'s Kolkata Deputy HC meets Mamata today

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata Abida Islam meets West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee today (Monday), reports UNB.
The meeting is purely a routine one as Abida is coming back to Dhaka shortly, and it has no link with the ongoing probe relating to a fund scam, said a diplomatic source in Dhaka.
The meeting, however, created lots of interest in the diplomatic circle as it is going to take place at a time when several intelligence and media reports in India have indicated that an MP of AITC, Ahmed Hassan Imran, had given money to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. This is also happening at a time when Bangladesh is making fresh push for signing the long-pending Teesta water-sharing treaty.
Confusion has been there over the meeting as a section of Indian media reported that the Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner was summoned by the West Bengal Chief Minister. The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry instantly clarified the matter saying the Indian media reports about summoning the Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner by the Chief Minister of West Bengal was not based on fact.
It said upon request from the Deputy High Commissioner, the Chief Minister of West Bengal has given her time to pay a courtesy call on the Chief Minister on September 15.
