BGB man Mizan laid to eternal rest

COMILLA, June 2 (UNB): Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member Nayek Subedar Mizanur Rahman, who was killed in firing by Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) men in Bandarban, was laid to eternal rest at Bhelanagar village in Debidwar Upazila Monday.

Mizanur was buried with state honour at his family graveyard after his 2nd namaz-e-janaza at Bhoisherkut Eidgah at about 3:15 pm.

Earlier, the body of the slain BGB man was flown to Comilla from Bandarban by a special helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force.

The helicopter carrying the body landed a field at Choyghari village in Chandina Upazila around 1:00 pm.

BGB Northeast Sarail Regional Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Anisur Rahman received the body.

Local MP Razi Mohammad Fakhrul, high officials of BGB and officials of the administration were present at that time.

Later, his body was taken to his house at Bhelanagar when a pall of gloom descended on the entire village.

Earlier, the first namaz-e-janaza of Mizanur was held at the BGB Naikhonchhari headquarters in Bandarban at about 9:00 am Monday.

BGB regional commander Brig Gen Rakib Ahmed Chowhdury, Cox's  Bazar BGB sector commander Col Farid Ahsan and BGB 31 Battalion commander Lt Col Shafiqur Rahman, among others, attended the janaza.
