Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) AKM Nazmul Hasan on Saturday said that they would work with professionalism to maintain law and order during the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election scheduled for January 7, reports UNB.

He said this while talking to reporters after visiting a BGB base camp set up on the occasion of electoral deployment at GEC Convention Centre in Chattogram city.

The BGB DG said the paramilitary force would remain vigilant along with other law enforcing agencies to prevent any sabotage before, during and after the election.

He also said the BGB would be deployed as a mobile striking force from December 29 to January 10 so that no violence occurs before, during and after the election and they would work to ensure a fair environment for the election.

BGB would also be active to ensure that voters can come to the polling centers and exercise their voting rights without any hindrance, he said, adding that their dog squad would be used if necessary to prevent sabotage.
