Bill to raise SC judges\\\' remuneration placed in JS

The government seeks to raise remuneration for Supreme Court (SC) judges by 50 per cent as special allowance under a bill placed in the parliament, reports UNB.
Law Minister Anisul Haq placed the bill titled 'Supreme Court Judges (Remuneration and Privileges) (Amendment) Act, 2014' Tuesday.
The bill was sent to the concerned standing committee for further scrutiny.
The committee was asked to submit its report within next three days.
The bill said the remuneration and other facilities of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and other judges of Appellate Division and High Court Division was fixed as per the Supreme Court Judges (Remuneration and Privileges) Ordinance, 1978.
It said that the government has decided to increase the remuneration of the judges by 50 per cent of their respective remuneration as 'Special Allowance'.
