Blue Panel sweeps DU syndicate polls

Pro-Awami League (AL) teachers' platform known as Blue panel swept the syndicate elections of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday, reports UNB.

The Blue Panel candidates won the eleven posts while the BNP-Jamaat-backed White panel bagged two posts.

Election commissioner and DU Treasurer Prof Dr Kamal Uddin conducted the polls and published results in the afternoon.

The polls were held from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Nawab Nabab Ali Chowdhury senate Bhaban.

In Syndicate posts the "Blue Panel" teachers won four out of six posts. They are: Dean of DU Earth and Environmental Science Faculty Prof Dr Professor ASM Maksud Kamal in the Dean category, president of Dhaka University Teachers Association (Duta) Prof Dr Farid Uddin in Professor category, DU Mathematic teacher and senate member Chandra Nath Poddar and English department associate Professor Neelima Akhter in associate professor category won.
