BNP attempting sabotage to foil election: Qamrul

Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam on Wednesday said BNP has adopted ill strategies to delay proceedings of the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case to create a volatile situation in the country ahead of the national elections, reports BSS.

"In normal procedure, the trial was supposed to be completed two years ago. But the BNP embarked on evil strategies to prolong the trial so that they could create an unstable environment in the country ahead of the national polls," he said, speaking at a discussion at an auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city.

Bangabandhu Academy organised the meeting on the current politics in the country. Awami League Dhaka South City Unit Joint General Secretary MA Kader Khan chaired the meeting.
