The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) sticks to its guns in holding the grand rally in front of its central office in the capital's Nayapaltan area next Saturday.
To this end, the party informed the police on Thursday that they were determined to hold their programme at the same venue on October 28.
The party disclosed its intent to hold the rally in its reply to a police query on seven issues.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Paltan police station sought BNP to know about the names of two other alternative venues apart from Nayapaltan for the rally.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi sent a letter to the officer-in-charge of the Paltan police station to this end.
According to the letter, the BNP has already taken all preparations to hold the rally peacefully on the road outside its Nayapaltan headquarters.
The letter said that as the party has taken all preparations so it is not possible to relocate their venue for holding grand rally.
Mr Rizvi said the rally would be a gathering of 0.1-0.15 million people and it would start at 2:00 pm and conclude before Maghreb prayers.
