BNP boycotts polls as people do not trust them: Parash

Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash on Saturday said that BNP boycotted the January 7 general election as people do not trust them, reports BSS.

"BNP is a criminal party and people don't trust them. They hate them. From that guilty feeling, BNP men knew that people would never come to vote for them. That's why, BNP boycotted the polls," he said.

He said these while chairing the opening ceremony of distribution of winter clothes among the needy people across the country under the initiative of Awami Jubo League on Banani Model School premises in the city.

Awami League (AL) Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Aminul Islam Amin attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Parash said that AL promised to bring the price of the essentials under the grip of people's purchasing power and that is why this pledge came first in its election manifesto considering the issue as a challenge for the present government.
