BNP celebrates Khaleda's birthday

Hundreds of her followers offered prayers and sent floral greetings to her at the makeshift jail in the parliament building complex as BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia stepped into 64 Friday, reports UNB.

BNP and its front organizations observed her birthday at a low-key in the changed political situation in the country. The programmes include cutting of birthday cake and holding milad and doa mahfil.

BNP secretary general Khondoker Delwar Hossain, MK Anwar, Nazrul Islam Khan, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and leaders of BNP's front organizations went to the makeshift jail at 9:30 am and sent bouquets to her through the jail authorities.

Later, a milad mahfil was held at the ground floor of Delwar's NAM apartment seeking divine blessings, freedom and long-life of Khaleda Zia.

Jatiyotabadi Mahila Dol and Tanti Dol cut a birthday cake after Thursday midnight at Delwar's NAM apartment.
