BNP expels four leaders for contesting UZ polls -

The BNP has expelled four more of its grassroots leaders for participating in the third phase of the upcoming upazila elections violating the party's decision, reports UNB.

With this latest action, the party has so far expelled 203 leaders for contesting the upazila polls going against its directives.

According to a BNP press release issued on Thursday, these punitive measures were taken in line with the party's constitution.

It said Faridpur Sadar Upazila unit Jubo Dal's former joint convenor Israt Munshi, Habiganj Sadar Upazila BNP's ex-organising secretary Nurul Haque Tipu, Tangail's Nagorpur Union BNP member Abdul Samad Dulal and Pabna's Atghoria Upazila unit Swechchasebak Dal convenor Yusuf Ali Pramanik have been expelled from all party positions, including its primary membership for contesting the election.

Of the expelled leaders, one was contesting for the post of upazila chairman while the three others for the position of vice-chairman.
