Joint general secretary of ruling Awami League (AL) Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif Tuesday said BNP has isolated itself from people for its faulty politics and that's why the party wants country's instability, reports BSS.
"Don't be misguided by any of their (BNP leaders) provocative statement and conspiracy," he said pointing at the people of the country while speaking as the chief guest at a book cover-unveiling function at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium at Segunbagicha in the capital.
Writer of the book "Andhar Pariye Alo" (Light after darkness) Mofazzel Huq presided over the function, also addressed, among others, by former vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Kushtia District AL general secretary Azgar Ali and publisher Shahdat Hossain of Annesha Prokashani.
Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said, "people of the world have been applauding the government of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina extending support to her administration now. On the other hand, BNP has been thrown away for pursuing faulty politics. So, they want to create instability in the country resorting to unwarranted anarchy but people will not let their design come true."
In a rebuttal to the recent remarks of some BNP leaders that the AL was responsible for emergence of militancy in Bangladesh, the AL leader said, "It's a blatant lie. People of Bangladesh know better who were responsible for emergence of militancy. Stop your shameful falsehood. Awami League knows how to stamp out terrorism and militancy. People of the country want peace. Don't crate confusion in public mind by provocative remarks."
